We have put some general information together for you to ensure your precious ASKfm profile remains safely yours!
This is how you can protect your password:
Choose a password that is difficult to guess for anyone but you.
Your password is YOURS. And it should stay that way. While sharing it with friends (or even family) might sound like a good idea, be aware what it means. And when in public places, protecting your password is really important too.
Having different passwords for your different online accounts may be a pain to keep track of but it protects your account, should someone get his/her hands on your password! (Plus, there is always keychain or password manager tools to support your memory).
There are people out there trying to get your password and to wreak havoc in your name. Some other ways of safeguarding your account are:
Knowing about phishing and how emails or sites ask for your sensitive data to get into your account is empowering!
Being cautious is not only for nerds! Locking phone and computer if you don’t use it for a while, is actually really smart. (And thinking about whom you let use your computer, especially when you stay logged in all the time, is even smarter!).
And don’t forget to logout on a public device when you leave!
And remember, having forgotten your password is no biggie: Recover it with a few clicks.
