Well, phishing has nothing to do with seafood or boats, but rather an individual or groups of individuals who obtain info by tricking consumers of legitimate companies.
Typical ways of cheating you out of your password, user login, email address or even date of birth are:
- Sending an email or a “message” asking you to enter your login info after clicking on a provided link,
- Creating a page that looks like ASKfm and asks for your login info,
- Promoting a website or app that promises some insider info (like revealing anonymous askers or followers) after entering your account info, and many more.
Well, that email, website, and anything associated with it are absolutely not legit. Once you have submitted your details, they can go into your ASKfm account and wreak havoc!
